I am passionate about individuals finding purpose and "fit" in their work and home life. I believe that our performance and job satisfaction is greatest when our work closely aligns with our strengths, values and interests. Self-care is a central theme of my coaching - finding ways to be truly who we are and meet our own needs as we fulfil the various roles and responsibilities we carry.
I am a trained lawyer, and have worked as a diplomat, careers adviser and senior policy professional. I am also a mother to three children. As a result, I particularly enjoy working with government professionals wanting to increase their job satisfaction or pursue new opportunities, and women making the transition from work, to home and back again.
As a coach I am an intent listener and insightful questioner. I hear underlying and sometimes unspoken threads in what you are saying and shine a light on these to lead you towards greater self-awareness and growth.
Through my business, StandOut Consulting, I offer a range of diagnostic assessments, facilitation and training, including on CV and interview techniques and self-care. I am also an IECL certified coach.
"I thoroughly enjoyed our coaching sessions and it has really clarified for me what my goals are, what it is that drives me and what sort of positions I should be seeking."
"The discussion of my strengths contributed directly into answers I gave in my job interviews. It was really useful for self-awareness, personal branding and as a complement to STAR examples."
"I have attended a course facilitated by Abi, and I have also heard her present several times to large and small groups. Abi is always thoroughly and impressively prepared, and is able to synthesise different ideas well. In group facilitation situations she works hard to engage everyone and is good at sharing ideas. In large groups she is engaging and backs theory with practical ideas and applications. I would highly recommend Abi as a group leader and speaker."
