Claire grew up in Northland, and calls Kororāreka (Russell) in the Bay of Islands home. She started her Human Resources career in 2006 after graduating from Canterbury University with a Bachelor of Arts. Claire’s achievements include being awarded the HR NZ Volunteer of the Year Award, selected as a Committee for Canterbury future leader, and selected as a Global Women breakthrough leader.

A busy mum to Minnie and Quinn, Claire is passionate about empowering people and communities, she is the co-founder of two community initiatives; one focused on the transition into retirement (Hono Mai) and the other on connecting rural communities (Whenua Whānau), Claire is on the Board for the Graeme Dingle Foundation Canterbury and The Period Place, and since 2015 has been a mentor through the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation to Irihāpati.

As the Culture and Capability Manager for an Australasian Seed company, Claire is an authentic, collaborative, and passionate people practitioner, with strong communication skills and a positive and energetic attitude, dedicated to developing strong relationships and providing flexible and adaptive solutions to deliver strategic people needs.
